Wharekohu Bay, a languid bay on a
beautiful island. A small harbour of calm from the
battering storm. Wharekohu Bay is a
small bay on the lush temperate island reserve of Kapiti
Island, surrounded by a tempestuous sea. The bay
has a mixed history; for millions of years it was home to
nothing but forest and countless birds and reptiles.
More recently it was part of an island fortress, a whaling
station and a farm outpost. Now as a high-status nature
reserve, it is once more home only to beautiful forest and
birds. We reflect this type of
history in our titles, changing with the times but always
wanting to revert to a calm, natural state.
